John- was born and raised on a dairy farm in the Reedsburg area.  He graduated from UW-Madison Vet School in 1999… Yes, a long time ago!… and has been practicing large animal medicine in Reedsburg ever since. John loves to wake up every morning and see the sunrise while he works with cattle. He truly believes that he has the best job in the world! All of his employees enjoy his great sense of humor. 

​Dr. John started Sunrise Veterinary Services in 2004. At that time, Dr. John was a one man show working out of his home and vehicle. In 2009, Dr. John felt the time was right and he opened the doors on his first office building and hired his first employee. Eventually Sunrise outgrew its home, and in 2013 ​Dr. John opened the door on the present clinic only 2 buildings down from the original location on S. Albert Ave, Reedsburg. Now Sunrise Veterinary Services has grown to include six veterinarians working to keep both large & small animals at their best. 

When Dr. John isn’t at work; he loves to take vacation, go hunting, or target shooting.
